Fairtrade: Has this website been informative and educational?

Welcome to Blogsplot a project ran by Paul Blackler a VSO Youth For Development (YFD) volunteer. The YFD is a one year voluntary placement working abroad in International Development. I have been accepted onto a role as a regional IT trainer in The Gambia for the Department of State for Education. This will commence on August 28th 2008, based largely in the town Basse in the Upper River region in the Rural East of the country.

SO..... follow the project of promoting Fairtrade and raising global awareness along side raising funds for charity. Fundraising

The first fundraising event has already taken place, as a sponsored funrun style game called Funrunopoly which took place on June 28th in Central London. Read the full story here.

TransFair USA have collaborated with Google to bring you this exciting new way to learn about Fair Trade. Navigate the globe using the new Fair Trade layer to discover Fair Trade Certified farms in Latin America, Africa, and Asia

Viewing Fair Trade farm profiles is easy, follow these simple steps....

1. Download and install the Google Earth Application >

2. Open Google Earth and:
* View > Sidebar
* (expand) Layers
* (expand) Global Awareness subset
* (click) Fair Trade Certified

3. This should pop-up the Fair Trade Coop icons and populate the earth, look around Latin America for the icons.
